Wellbeing

Article 17: You have the right to get information that is important to your wellbeing.

Article 3: The best interests of the child must be a top priority in all decisions and actions that affect children.

Wellbeing and pastoral care underpin our WE ARE curriculum and our vision for Penwortham to be an excellent school, where outstanding practice, equality and well-being are at the heart of all that we do.

We define wellbeing as equipping our children with the language, tools and strategies they will need to navigate life’s ups and downs successfully.

Our Aims

  • To continually promote wellbeing within the ethos and curriculum of the school
  • To support the wellbeing and pastoral needs of our school community (pupils, staff and families)
  • To work effectively in partnerships with external service providers
  • To nurture self-efficacy and resilience by supporting individuals to recognise their own strengths and the resources available to them.

We understand that the success and achievement of our children is inextricably linked to their wellbeing.
