At Penwortham art is underpinned by four key principles: inspire, experiment, create and reflect. In art children are inspired through exposure to a diverse range of artists, craftspeople, architects and designers. Through cross curricular learning, they are given time and space to engage with different artists. The children are encouraged to develop relevant skills, creativity and to use the physical world to stimulate their creative minds and vision.

During the art workshop children had the opportunity to create a piece of work on canvas using paint. We explored shape, texture, lines and pattern to create our final piece. The structure of the workshop was designed to give parents an understanding of what art lessons look like at Penwortham. Parents and children were able to collaborate to create their final piece whilst using the key skills required. The families were then able to take home their final pieces to display proudly and reflect on their experience.
